The "Monte Oliveto" Agricultural Company was founded in 1800 by the great-grandfather Carlo Rossi. The son of Carlo Rossi, the famous Raimondo, also had a grocery and tobacco shop in the historic center of Calmasino. Subsequently, his grandfather Raimondo Aristide (Cesare's father) helped to move the company forward. Then Cesare and his family gradually enlarged the company, acquiring land and improving the cultivation of the old pergola vine replacing it with the Guyot vine.
